About Betty Good
Betty’s life has been guided by her quest to make a difference in the world and live a life with meaning and value. In her early 50’s, her background in education led her to embrace a teaching adventure in Japan for four years.
She later founded a business helping children, families, and organizations understand and lead from their strengths. Her careers as life coach and career counsellor helped her guide many toward fulfilling careers and confident futures.
A natural extrovert, Betty thrives on connecting with people of all ages.

When she was invited to join a non-profit to work with both youth and older adults, she jumped at the opportunity; she soon recognized the enriching tapestry woven by the connections between the two generations.
Betty lives in Calgary, Alberta. She has three married children and five grandchildren, with whom she has wonderful relationships. …intergenerational relationships!
For every person to have a meaningful connection or relationship with a person of another generation.
To empower others to generate intergenerational programs and activities.
The ultimate goal of intergenerational programs is to foster long-term relationships that result in reciprocal benefits, capitalizing on the strengths of youth and seniors.
Our Story
GoodLinks Intergenerational Practice started organically in 2024 when the work of LINKages Society of Alberta was no longer sustainable. Since Betty had been on staff there for eight years, she rallied and salvaged six of the intergenerational programs and turned them into clubs, continuing to support them to be successful. Faced with the threat of no longer offering vital training, Betty founded her social enterprise.
Her commitment to bridging generational gaps persists; she continues volunteering on Intergenerational Committees, both in Alberta and across Canada. She is also part of the tutoring team at Generations Working Together in Scotland.
Betty offers training and consulting, as well as support to organizations who are wanting to develop intergenerational programs.

As part of GoodLinks’ mission, she is the team lead for the National Intergenerational Community of Practice, has a presence on the National Advisory Committee for GrandPals, and participates in the National Ageism Awareness Working Group.
Around Calgary, Betty often collaborates with organizations to promote intergenerational projects and create awareness about the significance of intergenerational work.
